NRW.BANK in 60 seconds

NRW.BANK is the promotional bank of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW). Its mission is to support its owner – the state of North Rhine-Westphalia – in the completion of its structural and economic policy tasks. In its three promotional fields “Economy”, “Housing” and “Infrastructure/Municipalities”, NRW.BANK uses a wide range of promotion tools – from low-interest promotion loans to equity financing to promotional advisory services. It cooperates with all banks and savings banks based in NRW on a competition-neutral basis.

In 2022, our new commitment volume was 13,6 billion euros. Eckhard Forst is Chairman of the Managing Board of NRW.BANK. He is responsible for Human Resources, Legal, Internal Audit as well as Corporate Development. He holds various mandates, including President of the Association of German Public Sector Banks (Bundesverband Öffentlicher Banken Deutschlands e. V.) and member of the Board of Directors of HSBC Trinkaus & Burkhardt AG.

Gabriela Pantring is Deputy Chairwoman of the Managing Board. She is responsible for Promotional Business Development, Risk Control, Credit Management and Business Support. She is also Board member for the Westphalia-Lippe region. She holds various mandates ,including Vice President of the European Association of Public Banks (EAPB).

Claudia Hillenherms is a member of NRW.BANK's Managing Board. She is responsible for Finance, Promotion Programmes, Information Technology and Services, Governance and Organisation as well as Housing Promotion.

Michael Stölting is a member of the Managing Board and is responsible for Promotion Programme Advisory Services & Customer Service, Capital Markets as well as Equity Finance & Special Finance. He is also Board member for the Rhineland region. Mr Stölting is, among other things, Chairman of the supervisory bodies of WestSpiel and WestLotto as well as a member of the Supervisory Board of Investitionsbank des Landes Brandenburg.
